1st year consortium meeting

The MEDACORNET project consortium met between the 6th and 7th of June 2024 at the faculté des Sciences in Tunis. The meeting made it possible to align the development of project activities as well as disseminate the results obtained and the impact of using acorns as a super food through the 1st awareness session

Master’s Thesis Defense

Within the scope of the MedAcornet project, Ester De Ruvo, student at University of Bari, successfully defended her master’s thesis entitled “Non-destructive Screening of Acorn Characteristics Using Hyperspectral Imaging”. The work explored the application of hyperspectral imaging techniques for rapid and non-invasive characterization of acorns, contributing to innovative approaches for quality assessment and valorization within Mediterranean agroforestry systems.

First Master's Thesis in PRIMA MEDACORNET

Within the scope of the MedAcornet project, Rita Gesmundo, student at University of Bari, successfully defended her master’s thesis entitled “Formulation and Characterization of Baked Goods Enriched with Acorn Flour”. The research focused on the development and characterization of bakery products enriched with acorn flour, exploring innovative food applications that promote the valorization of acorn-based ingredients and their potential within sustainable Mediterranean food systems.

2nd year consortium meeting

On April 3–4, 2025, partners of the MedAcornet consortium gathered at University of Bari for a two-day meeting dedicated to project coordination, technical discussions, knowledge exchange, and the alignment of upcoming activities focused on innovation and valorization of acorn-based products and technologies
